Author Victoria Coe pictured with a student and book

During the grade-level presentations, Victoria talked to the students about writing the stories from Fenway's point of view ( a dog). She wanted them to use their imagination and pretend to be a dog, more specifically a Jack Russell Terrier, like in the stories.  She had students jump, wag their tails, beg for food, etc. so they could "see" things from a dog's point of view.  There are many pictures on our Facebook page showing the students acting like dogs.

One of Victoria's books, Fenway and the Loudmouth Bird was just named the Sid Fleischman Honor Book, the only major award for excellence in humourous writing for children.
