By Kaleb Huber, Perryville CEO Program student
Perryville Area Career and Technology Center, including students from Perryville High School, Saxony Lutheran High School, and St. Vincent High, and the Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship, are proud to partner together to offer the CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities) program in Perryville. The CEO program is an accredited, one-year-long course designed for students eager to learn how to successfully create and run a business and develop the skills needed to become an entrepreneur, all while learning from business owners and professionals in the community.
The CEO program is not your typical classroom experience, which makes it truly unique. Each day, students will come together with their Perryville facilitator to visit one of the 30+ Perryville area businesses that have partnered with them. Along the way, students will meet business owners, gain hands-on experience, and get behind the scenes looks at how businesses operate. Students are paired with mentors from the community, and from start to finish, they will create their own businesses.
These businesses will be featured at the Showcase Event at the end of the school year, Thursday, May 1st, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at The Warehouse Entertainment District in downtown Perryville, where students will present their hard work to the community. Please join us. Food and beverages will be provided along with an opportunity to visit with each student at their individual showcase.
