We want your feedback: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Z8NMRKG

June 16, 2021

Dear District 32 Family,

I am asking everyone connected to our schools to respond to a survey that will help us develop a plan to spend federal grant monies to lessen the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our students and staff.

The survey consists of four questions and will take less than 5 minutes to complete. All District 32 students, employees, parents/guardians and interested community members are invited to complete the survey, which closes at 7 pm Tuesday, June 22.  You can find the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Z8NMRKG.

The district will receive federal funding through the ESSER III program, which may be used for certain projects and programs related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Between December 2020 and April 2021, the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan committee of parents, staff and community members reviewed all district programs and projects. The CSIP committee prioritized the district’s goals for the next 5 years, and recommended using ESSER funding wherever possible to meet those goals.

These federal funds are part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) signed into law in March 2021 by President Joe Biden, which included $122 billion in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds for school districts across the country. The results of the survey will guide the district in prioritizing other programs and projects when applying for ESSER III grants. The district’s initial allotment in ESSER III funds is $1,883,294, and the district may be eligible for up to $2,834,802 in ESSER III funds.

The survey will ask you to help us prioritize the way we allocate this funding by telling us which areas of focus are most important as we accelerate learning: professional development, extended instructional time, staffing, facilities or technology. You will also be asked about the district’s proposed mitigation procedures for the coming school year, outlined in the ESSER III document at https://rb.gy/iddx2g.

You will find the survey results and ESSER III documents on the District 32 website at www.pcsd32.com

on June 23 to meet federal requirements. These documents will be updated as required every six months or whenever changes are made to the plan. These are designed to be living documents that adapt to changing circumstances.

Thank you for taking time out of your summer to assist us with this important step in leveraging federal dollars to make the greatest impact for our students and staff.

Sincerely,

Andy Comstock
